Blogapalooza in Montpellier

That's right - we had another Blogapalooza over the weekend, this time in the seaside city of Montpellier.

You can find the write up from our very first gathering here, and our second (redux) here.

What a fantastic bunch of people to meet!

Lovely Aidan organised the shebang and folks came from as far away as Paris, Bordeaux and Monaco to attend.

We met for lunch at Chez Boris:

Where the walls (and ceilings) are chalkboards:

And the menu is heavy on the meat:

We were seated right in the back where there were plenty of dark walls and no windows, so you'll have to excuse the grainy photos (consider it ambiance :)

Karen, Abby and Colleen checking out the gorgeous cushion Nicola made for Aidan. Logan (Abby's husband) in the background explaining what size steak he'd like.

When you put a bunch of repressed English speakers together in a foreign country you get a lot of fast talking. And when you get a lot of talking at once it gets really LOUD!

Lovely Aidan with her cushion (and a French lady laughing at us all in the background)

We received a few amused looks and a nearby diner even wandered over to ask us who we all were.

Nicola, the seamstress extraordinaire

We didn't care, we just kept on yapping.

Even when the food came out.

I don't think Logan got the steak he wanted.

Although it did get a little quieter when they served dessert. The lemon meringue was scrummy.

Aidan and Jennifer's girls kept each other company and even left a little reminder of their stay (encouraged by the staff).

It was a fantastic day and I'd love to say a big hello and thank you to all those who attended, especially Aidan for organising it all.

Here's everyone:

Aidan - Conjugating Irregular Verbs
Jennifer - American Mom in Bordeaux
Nicola - Growing Berries
Karen - Little Sweet Spots
Julie - The Provence Post
Sarah - St Bloggie de Riviere
Heather - Lost in Arles
Jennifer - Gustia
Abby - J'adore Ma Vie
Meredith - Talking Story in Provence
Colleen - Life 2.1

A great list for those who love expat blogs!

What lovely photos! I'm so glad someone brought a camera! I think I probably broke a cardinal rule of blogging by NOT taking pics/bringing a camera. Will be sending blog readers your way to view :)

Seems the giggling French lady's male friend was amused also! I trust you had steak with that salad!

I didn't take a camera either (got a bit carried away with the morning's events and didn't have it on me). But we had a brilliant gossipy jolly time. :)

This was great Kirsty! Thank you. Your photos turned out really well I think. I love the lady in the background.
It was a wonderful afternoon, that's for sure.

Great post and I just love your photos. I was great to meet everyone even though I couldn't hear a word they were saying. One thing's for sure, it was a happy, lively, noisy get together and I'm hoping for an invite to next year's do. Hint!

Your photos are great, as always. I especially like the one where the girls are adding to the deco. Very nice to meet you and the other bloggers!

Super post!! Haven't gotten around to getting my photos up yet. It was such a great afternoon and weekend!! I still smiling thinking about the fun we had. It was so nice to meet everyone! My daughter also loved it and wants to know when we are doing it again. Have to admit - today is my birthday and this was such fun to read today! Thank you!

How did you manage to get such great photos? Great round-up of a great event. It was so fun to see everyone and totally worth the trip from Paris. Thanks for all the sewing love btw - you're making me blush!

SO much fun!!! Logan definitely did NOT get his steak but found the comments hilarious ;) Had such a wonderful meeting with YALL (Yep, another Texan)! Maybe we can host the next get together at our place in Central France? Just a thought!

Love love love your photos! Fantastic to meet you and everyone else. Am I asking too much for 1) more than one meet up a year and 2) for you to return to France for more meetups? Karen

I was so sorry that I had to miss this. I never seem to be able to make it. And if I'd been there instead of Morocco, I wouldn't have ended up with a nasty case of Montezuma's Revenge. That'll teach me!
