Could be due to the weather (it's been pretty hot, lovely when you aren't a whale) and of course the fact it's 17 days until baby makes his debut. If he's on time.
I did find some time over the past few days to put Bloom's covered journal tutorial to good use again.
I made some small versions of these for Christmas gifts; these three larger versions are for the kids' teachers as today is the last day of school.
I chose the pens first and then found coordinating fabrics - much easier than doing it the other way around.
As with the pencil cases, it was great fun choosing outer and inner fabrics to match. Do I need to get out more?
I also did a bit of quilting earlier in the week, for a sweet baby girl. Now I just need to get on with the hand binding, not so much fun in hot weather.
Another weekend has rolled around, I just don't know where the time is going.
Have a great one (especially Maaike, who is getting married

The books are beautiful, what a lovely gift idea. I don't know why but I wouldn't have thought of including a pen!
Love the journals, that's a great tutorial, and very smart of you to buy the pen first. I wouldn't have thought of that!
The colours in the baby quilt are gorgeous, lovely bright and summery.
Those journals are so pretty! What a beautiful idea!
As usual, all your stuff looks fabulous! Such pretty fabrics and colours on the journals! Very lucky teachers!
i don't know what i love more, the fabrics, the delicious matchiness of the pens/books, the photos, the amazing neatness of your work? and then don't get me started on the quilt. you are a machine woman. do you sleep (sorry stupid question to a 37 weeks pregnant woman)
What makes you think the baby will be a boy?!! Hmmm interesting. Loving your idea to buy the pens first - I would never think of that great piece of advise. I wish I was one of your children's teachers. Such pretty notebooks, a perfect gift that would sure get used. Really must make some myself. Your fabric choices are so nice and smart.
I hope your house is nice and cool for the holidays and your last few weeks in a whale state. They couldn't have come at a more perfect time for you.
This is a lovely gift for everybody, I will have to remember. I am sure your covered journals have been very appreciated, the fabrics are so pretty and fresh.
The weather is very hot here as well. My second child was born on the 15th of july, I have neve been so big when pregnant and I remember rolling from one room to another panting and exhausted.
I hope that Petit Monsieur will come earlier than expected!
Those journals are fab! You could sell those (with matching pen of course) x
Lucky teachers! The journals look lovely and fun to make! I should give it a try sometime, God knows I have enough fabric ... ;-)
I'm looking forward to seeing the girly quilt in its full glory!
Oh congratulations on your new baby!!!
Your journals are gorgeous!!!! Just enjoy that sunshine eh!

You never cease to amaze me with what you manage to accomplish. These journals are gorgeous, as is the quilt. I will have limited access to my computer for about 10 days, so your little one may be here before I am back. Hope everything goes well, and you manage to find a cool spot now and then.
Hi Kirsty, I am catching up on my blogreading... to find such Amazingly coloured bookcovers on yours! I love love love your designs, really they are so pretty. And yes, combining fabrics, pens and other whatever is the best there is. Who gets tired of that?!
Good luck on your last 2 weeks as a whale (poor you!) and thank you so much for that sweet notice of our wedding, you are the best.
Love, Maaike
