A little sewing, a little travelling...

I had the opportunity to submit a project to Down Under Quilts magazine a few months ago.

ChristmasTreeQuilt

It's on newsstands now and I'm happy to say my little piece of Christmas is on the cover. Squee!

I've also managed a quick girls' weekend to Tasmania for a good friend's 40th birthday. (Yes, we are all turning 40. Eep.)

It was only for a few days but I still got to see the beach:

Markets:

Barracks:

And managed to brunch myself silly:

There's been a bit more sewing - a quilt top finally finished:

I'm now working on the quilt back and hope to be basting soon.

Hope you all had a fun Halloween and enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations on the magazine cover! And the pattern of course! (I have just returned from the newsagent! I wished I known you were featuring! ) And you are back to your photographic best....what stunning photos- the Tassie Barracks and the chocolate! Any photo of chocolate is a good one!!! I hope you brought home some samples!

Congrats Cover Girl! That tree is a delight! I love how you quilted it to make it seem that the light from the star is radiating out. Great pictures in this post, too. Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on being published! Though Christmas is much too close for my liking. Gorgeous photos as usual. A child free break with friends sounds so fantastic.

Congratulations on the pattern and the cover! How cool! :-) Well done! The pics of your trip are lovely. I have to say, though, that my favourite is the one with the chocolate. What does that say about me ...? Have a lovely weekend!

Love your big quilt too. Nice and simple but very effective. Will look great on a bed. Now that's one seriously delish brunch you ate. Love how it's in a pan. Nice for you to have a mini getaway, bet it was lovely.

That tree is adorable! I may just have to get a copy of the magazine :) Also - that picture of chocolate - chili and lime chocolate sounds so bizarre, but yet sooo good!

Congratulations Kirsty that's fantastic. I wish I'd read this earlier as now I'll have to wait until tomorrow to race to the newsagents to buy a copy. I'm going to want that baby signed too, thank you!!!!!!!
You're the second person that's been posting pics of Tassie in the last week or so, I MUST go back, haven't been there for years, but it still looks fabulous.
