Another month gone....

And what have I got to show for it?

1. Well, there was Easter:

2. Not to mention Mother's Day:

MayCatchUp20
I bet none of you got a mug this cool

3. And of course Star Wars Day:

4. We managed an evening at Redcliffe, on the coast:

On the boardwalk, strutting his stuff

5. A visit to our local Army barracks' open day:

MayCatchUp4

MayCatchUp5
Dr Seuss never mentions what happens when you eat too much green eggs and ham

MayCatchUp6
Explosive Detection Dog and his handler.

6. And an outing to the Rail Museum, Queensland.

MayCatchUp13
MayCatchUp9
Lots of model trains and gorgeous little model scenarios

Do you think these ladies are quilters? (A yard is about this long...)

It wouldn't be a Bonjour Family outing without someone throwing a tantrum and running away.

7. Sewing wise, I have been chugging along with my first pattern. Some wonderful ladies are testing the various quilt sizes as we speak, making sure it's the best it can be.

8. If you heard a loud squeeee about a month ago, that would've been all the Australians learning that Camille Roskelley is coming to our side of the globe. She will be holding trunk shows and sewing classes in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney.

We'll be making Camille's Red Letter Day quilt during the class. Yay!
(Image stolen from Camille's blog)

Needless to say, I've booked myself a seat at both the trunk show and the class in Brisbane. Are any of the Australians out there attending? For enquiring minds more info can be found here.

9. I'm putting the finishing touches on my first newsletter. If you would like instructions on how to make this Spring Baby Quilt then be sure to sign up here.

My plan for the newsletter is to send out free quilt and block patterns, which won't be appearing on the blog. If we can pick up the numbers and some momentum, hopefully we can find some sponsors, too (coupons, fabric giveaways, foot rubs from Hugh Jackman, you know the drill).

10. We also went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary but I've drowned you in enough photographs so that will have to wait for another day.

Right, I think that's everything. I had to number them to make sure I didn't forget anything.

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying the warmer or cooler weather, depending on which hemisphere you're populating. I have my flannel pyjamas on and I'm loving it.

Take care and happy sewing!

I booked in this morning for the class. It should be fun. See you there.

Well you've beautifully documented lots, which is more than I can say! Here in Dunedin NZ we definitely need our flannel pyjamas! And our flannel sheets and our woollen electric blanket and our down jackets and...(that said today was a tropical 19 tho')!

I'm going to the class too! It's nice to see how many interesting family things there are to do in Brisbane. You made me laugh, a lot, at the green eggs and ham, hilarious. Wow that looks like an awesome pattern you have designed.

I have a stack of fabulous fabrics -- orangey reds, pale yellows, aquas -- compiled to make a baby blanket inspired by your disappearing nine patch. Just signed up for the inaugural edition of your newsletter -- thanks in advance for the pattern!

Sounds gloriously Springy, Michelle. Thanks for signing up!

Mmmm! I did notice where Camille WASN'T coming..... You have been busy though! I'm not sure where May is going..... And my Daffodils in the Deep will be finished at the weekend! I decided to do some hand quilting, just when my machine developed a nasty noise! Hopefully I can get the binding stitched on somehow!

Beautiful pictures, great post!
I have a question though: was that Mephisto (WW1 German armored vehicle) shipped all the way over to you ( I suppose it was)? Why did someone in Oz want to hang on to that? Really Weird (or maybe I'm too European to understand this?)
I LOVE those tine flip-flops on the boardwalk!!
And I'm so glad you have a totally normal family with tantrums (and fights?)
I already signed up for the newsletter; I'll check though!
When's the pattern for sale? PDF too I hope?

Sounds like a fun and industrious month! :-) Strutting his stuff - in flip-flops no less! Of course I signed up for your newsletter! The pattern looks like something even I could manage right now and very pretty! Does it mean that I've been on a fabric diet for too long when the idea of winning fabric has me more excited than H.J. foot rubs?! ;-)

Not too long, Betty, I'll be sure to keep you in the know (and the newsletter will let you know too). At the moment the pattern will only be PDF...but I will certainly consider a paper version if people ask for it.

Good to hear from you! I enjoyed the photos as always. Not too many at all for a whole month. Consider me in for the newsletter.

So lovely to see you pop up in my reader again! Miss you and your gorgeous photos. Not much (any) sewing going on here as we try to check off our bucket list and pack up. Only two more months left in France. Boo. But we are moving down to your side of the world. Hong Kong is happening!!

Great round up :o) Kristen from Gemini Stitches is going to one of them too, maybe Brisbane? Can't quite remember where she lives, but I think it's north east somewhere!

For a foot rub from Hugh Jackman I'd sign up to almost anything ... such a pity I don't quilt ;)
